Farming, Art and Community projects in Charlotte NC

Its a honor and privilege to work with Build-A-Soil, Fermented Plant Extracts, Harvesting Humanity, Dr. Mark Dugo, Center for Renewable Energy and Sustainability, and the Rosa Parks Farmer Market to present a community farming event! This is a special event that will include plant and seed exchanges and give aways, and workshops on how to make high quality compost  teas and enrich your garden.  Build A Soil will be doing workshops on both April 29th and 30th, sharing and showing how to build your soil, by making fertilizer organically and with what you have available. One of the workshops will be at Rosa Parks Farmers Market in Charlotte N.C. and the other will at Johnson C. Smith University on the April 30th. You can register by clicking on the QR Scan on the PDF flyer above.

What will I be doing,…? Glad you asked, I will be making an artistic colorful explosions with artists in Charlotte painting 3 murals in 2 days.. Over 32 feet of community art that will visually express the importance of building soil and being the vessel of nutrients to nature and ourselves. We will be doing it publicly, with every one invited to join, on April 29th at the Farmers Market with music to dance to while we work. These are the designs that will we will be doing:

Mural 1 In Oneness.

Mural 1 In Oneness.

This piece will be done in a different style, where there will be a true feeling of impressionism and Realism, this is a glimpse of the concept. We left some black and white to encourage others that they can join in and help finish this for real!

This design will be sketched out, where ones can fill in the areas, and beginners and children are welcome. The piece from afar will look like an eye looking at you, however close up, it is from a perspective of a insect that we look up and see the water drops on the grass, interwoven with NC State Flower, the Dogwood. In the water drop, and the center of the eye, is a child unborn in the water sac, symbolic of the micro macro relationship between man and woman, the dirt and water, above and below. This is a sketch and I am excited to see what happens on the spot, with the natural colors and feeling of water encapsulated. Come down the market and let’s create an inspiring piece that educates and invigorates. Paint will be provided, and your are welcome to bring your own too. I will be there April 29th early and all day with Build A Soil, Fermented Plant Extracts and our partners at Rosa Parks Farmers Market in Charlotte.

I will be in North Carolina for 7 days, and am looking forward to meeting the community and like minds. If you are interested in linking, and possibly organizing a pop up art show, I will also be bringing original paintings and prints. Blessed Love to one and all, we are excited for this gathering and celebration of community farming.
