This piece had a way that it came together that was natural. The almost adobe background with his relaxed mood seemed to have a feeling I could relate too. Lion in the sun…the colors make this pieces simplicity complex. Giving it that balance that makes me smile.

There’s something about this piece, New Mexico colors, Ethiopian Monk.  ”Sandia” in Spanish means, “water melon”  and the mountains here turn shades of pink and reds at sunset, because of the minerals in the rock. It makes a strong impression on those who see it. As I look at the mountains, I think of priests..in Zion. This is a collage of East and West, of Africa and New Mexico, of modern and abstract work. It seemed to wrap up this article pretty well, and sum it up in a painting somehow..I hope you enjoyed, give thanks for life!

With More Art happening this is just the beginning to a new time. Here are some of the recent works, and I look forward to hearing thoughts and comments. I hope they speak to you and inspire, lots of things to say, however I paint so I don’t have to…

A few days ago we had a very large moon, that is called the “flower moon”, happens every other year at the end of May. Here in NM it was very bright and orange, with the most amazing purple aura. I was staring at it and driving and saw others who had pulled over just to look at the moon. I looked and saw a lion roaring in it, and said, “Yea, I haffi paint dat” This piece is called, “Lion inna New Flower Moon.” With His Imperial Majesty walking thru the desert. 20×16″ acrylic and indian ink. These pieces have a royal presence, that seem to echo stages of divinity of the Lioness.. Of young, young and pregnant and the other a Mother. I love the way the look together and though 2 have been seen, showing these three together is to show the inter relationship. We could call it, Princess, Queen and Empress. “Shamma Mediations” This piece is similar to the one you saw last strong..it was sold and I tried to make another, which I can’t do of course..lol..so she changed and instead of being on fire, she is covered in a Shamma, which is an Ethiopian White Cotton or gauze cloth worn to symbolize one is on a spiritual journey or pilgrimage. “” The Water of Christ.”   Finished last night, it touches on the Holy Spirit and the mystic ways of Christ and His Angels reaching InI thru the ages. Ephesians 6:17 “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” This piece is about Why the Lion is the Head. And to take His Helmet and wear it, take His sword and know the Word of Jah in your Head and Heart. Know who is the Head and know who runs your Head. To be the Head is to be the Government. He is the Government, He is Order. It was inspired by the events of 1941 when Emperor Haile Selassie I would take back Ethiopia from Italian occupation. A few days before the proclamation of Mercy was given, HIM was seen covered in blood after slewing the invaders. He is the Word, and He has come to judge the nations, and though He sits on the Throne of Mercy, the Ark of the Covenant is to be feared for it will kill. Let Jah be Praised.

With faith and inspiration, I hope this painting encourages the viewer to meditate of the plight of millions, from refugees of Syria and Africa to those who are under occupation in Palestine.

I had a lot of fun with this one..Sometimes certain feeling emerge that comes from identification..you have to have know it to recognize it. From the start of this painting I could see the attitude and power in the face and the lines..I didn’t want that rawness to go away. This piece took a lot of work to make it look so easy, and it was demanding that the woman in the painting be respected and not exploited..The eventual decision to make her pregnant seemed most fitting, for what can make a woman more royal than to adore and care for our future kings and queens, artists and musicians, fathers and mothers, in the tradition of Our ancestors.

Bless the power of the Elephant, so graceful and massive..This piece looks so nice in person, the copper really works well with the purple. There is another elephant head at the bottom that is abstract and is reflective of how we are standing on the backs of our ancestors..who are giants! Blessed.

Working with the contrasts of Reds and Blues, This Fyah Elephant erupted. It was a lot of fun and was different that anything I have done in some ways..Has a abstract and southwestern feel, as well as two images of the elephant in combination with the last piece. This time the inner elephant coming forth above the head, rather than below.

This is a piece meditating on the Revolutionary Love Shown by Eyesus Krestos, Jesus Christ. A Love that was at direct odds with the State and its ability to progress on behalf of the people. A Love that saves them by showing Faith in God, and Courage in the face of the illusion known as death and conquer repression. One that understood, Let it bleed, not afraid to be in pain for the people. To Give your Life for the People, for the least of us.. I would like to livicate this piece to all the Palestinians that are dying on the front lines so that they can be  a non occupied people. Let Christ Love Rule. Let The King of Israel be obeyed, Emperor Haile Selassie I had come to set the captives free. May Micheal the Ark Angel protect and pave the way on Earth as it is in Zion.  In the Name of the Father, Jah the Son, and Jah the Holy Spirit. One Jah. Amen.

The life of an artist is beyond fun or happy, it is a quest for passions grip and the balance of tangible and intangible. We are creating nothing and yet able to give glimpses of ideas and visions about anything. It is one that is a lifestyle and also a journey of truth. Being real, understanding that what We as artists try to express is our deepest inspirations not visual illusions. How that is understood, in large part is up to the artist to craft skills in story telling through images and colors with purpose.

It is long over due, and yet right on time..The expansion has begun. I will be uploading and sharing more art, as well as reasonings on what is the mission of the paintings, and joyful prayers on canvases. The amount of art that I have is getting organized, cleaned up and will be more available than ever. For right now, on the Shop section, you will see “Prints”.
